PARIS, France – April 12th, 2022 – DOTSCREEN, the multiscreen video applications & UI specialist, today announced the renewal of its multi-year contract with Media Broadcast for the evolution, support, and maintenance of the Freenet HbbTV portal in Germany.

DOTSCREEN was the original designer and developer of the HbbTV front-end and associated backend of the Freenet TV portal in 2016. Since then, the company has continuously maintained and enhanced the HbbTV solution. Today, DOTSCREEN and Media Broadcast jointly decided to renew the relationship for another two years.

The Freenet portal by Media Broadcast is accessible by all “Connect” users and offers an opportunity to consult and use features such as:

  • HbbTV apps from major German providers such as ARD, Kabel Eins, MDR, ZDR, SAT1, RTL, VOX, Pro7, Kabel 1, NDR, SWR, etc.
  • German radio stations
  • Text and video-based news and articles
  • Weather forecasts
